Ministry of Home Affairs denied the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from prosecuting four Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials for killing Ishrat Jahan, according to a report by the Indian Express on June 9.

The Gujarat police and the Central government have maintained that the Mumbai girl shot dead in Ahmedabad on 15 June 2006 was involved in terrorist activities.

Ishrat Jahan’s family, who was 19 years old when killed, has been trying to get the involved officers prosecuted. They have found support from various human right activists and lawyers.

Headley shared this information with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials when they were in Chicago, USA, according to reports.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the meeting between NIA officials and Headley happened four years ago.

Headley was pardoned from the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case by a court in India and made an approver after he agreed to reveal details about the 2008 attack that claimed 166 lives.
