Cyclone Fani has made landfall near Puri in the state of Odisha and is likely to hit West Bengal soon.
As a precautionary measure, the railways has announced that a number of trains passing through coastal regions, mainly of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, will be cancelled.
The Kolkata airport will remain shut from 3 pm on Friday to 8 am Saturday. Bhubaneshwar airport will also remain shut for 24 hours from 3 May midnight.
