New Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS) Automobile major Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday unveiled India's first convertible SUV "TUV Stinger" along with a wide range of electric vehicle concepts including India's first electric mini SUV.The company also showcased SsangYong Motor's new G4 Rexton, which will be launched in India with an all new brand name. The luxury SUV, which has won many international awards, comes with a 7-speed Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission and its new 2.2L engine delivering 178 BHP power and 420 NM torque.The vehicles were unveiled at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo.Among its wide range of electric vehicle concepts was e-KUV100, India's first electric SUV which combines the benefits of an SUV with the unique advantage of an electric vehicle.The company said the vehicle boasts a range of over 140 km on a single charge, and optional fast charging which can extend its range by 80 per cent in less than an hour.The vehicle also equipped with smartphone connectivity, cabin pre-cooling and location tracking.Among other electric vehicle concepts were a compact two-seater concept electric mobility pod "UDO", a futuristic urban mobility concept "Atom", lithium-ion battery powered three-wheeler "Treo" and a zero-emission electric bus "e-Cosmo".During the launch, Mahindra Group Executive Chairman Anand Mahindra said: "As India aspires to global leadership on climate action, the time is right to develop sustainable mobility solutions for the future".The company also unveiled the new TUV Stinger concept which is powered by an engine from Mahindra's mHawk family delivering 140 BHP power and 320 NM of torque, a statement said.The "Auto Expo -- The Motor Show" 2018 is being held from February 9-14, 2018 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.However, February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.--IANSvv/vd
