Belgian police investigating the Brussels airport and metro attacks arrested a man in connection with “terrorist murders”, the federal prosecutor revealed on Friday.
The man, identified only as Ali EHA, aged 31, was detained during a house search in the Schaerbeek area of the capital on Thursday, the prosecutor’s office said.
Ali has been arrested on his suspected involvement in the activities of a terrorist group, terrorist murders and attempted terrorist murders. Authorities have not revealed whether he was a perpetrator or accomplice in the bombings.
The announcement comes a day after a Belgian court approved the extradition of Mohamed Abrini to France, a key suspect in both the Brussels attacks and the November Paris attacks in which 130 people were killed.
