In a characteristic Hasan Minhaj way, the Indian-origin comic issues a (satirical) apology on his episode on Indian elections.

The poster of Minhaj’s Netflix original show Patriot Act’s latest episode reads, “I am sorry, I didn’t listen.”

The show talks about BJP’s landslide victory in the 2019 elections, Smriti Irani taking Amethi from Rahul Gandhi, and the paltry number of seats that the Opposition won in the Parliament, Pragya Thakur terrorism charges among others.

He also talks about the ‘desi’ trolls who have flooded his mentions since his original episode on Indian elections, calling him all kinds of names.

Since the new episode, Times Now has invited Minhaj for a ‘not so intense’ interaction on their ‘Frankly Speaking’ chat show.

Will ‘Minhaj vs Times Now’ be the next ‘PewDiePie vs T-series’? Minhaj’s response to the latest invite is awaited.

Minhaj was invited by Times Now prime time host Navika Kumar for an interaction after his Indian election episode. He says he excused himself from the same because of “the sheer nuisance that these TV debates are”.

Many users suggested that he should have accepted the offer for the sheer scope of comedy. Minhaj also implied that the trolling he got on social media after his episode was equal to Navika’s prime time debate.

The episode was met with a lot of appreciation from desi and videshi fans on Twitter.

Some users also had some content suggestions.

Minhaj also makes references to PM Modi’s infamous interview with actor Akshay Kumar, where he talks about his love for mangoes. It also incited some user reactions.

The whole episode is streaming on Netflix. Apart from the Indian elections, it talks about the 1MNB scam.
