The video shows the men beating up Santhosh, a resident of Sriramapura, mercilessly for at least a minute before telling him he should be supporting the people of Karnataka since he was born and raised there.

It is said that Santhosh had made derogatory comments against actors Shivarajkumar, ‘Duniya’ Vijay, Ragini Dwivedi and Darshan.

There were reports that the group brought him to the police station but the police refused to file a case. However, a senior police officer denied that Santhosh was brought to the station and that the gang left him as he apologised.

By the time Girinagar police reached the spot, both Santhosh and the group had left and no case was registered.
