Environment activists Greta Thunberg and George Monbiot released a video calling for people’s participation towards solving the nature’s problem, climate change, which starts with something as simple as planting a tree.
Child activist Greta Thunberg says, “We can still fix this, YOU can still fix this.” She calls for an end to burning fossil fuels, adding that the easiest way to do it is “right in front of us”.
George Monbiot, writer and environment activist, refers to trees, when he talks about the easiest way to save nature. as a “magic machine that sucks carbon out of the air, costs very less and builds itself”.
Planting a tree, Monbiot says, is a “natural climate solution” since they lock the carbon out of the air.
Thunberg then says that we spend 1,000 times more in fossil fuel subsidies than on natural solutions.
"At a time when we need nature the most, we are destroying it faster than ever,” Monbiot says.
The two call for Protection, Restoration and Funding for the nature.
Tropical forests are being cut down at a rate of 30 football pitches every minute. Much of the planet is damaged, and we can help it bounce back. We also need to stop funding things that destroy nature and start paying for things that help it.
Although people are already using natural restoration procedures, we need to do it on a massive scale.
