1 Jawan, 1 Militant Killed as Multiple Encounters Rock J&K

An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam early on 14 November. An army jawan and a militant were killed in the operation. A police personnel has also been injured.

Another encounter was reported from Awantipora district on Tuesday morning.

A gunfight was reported to be underway between security forces and militants in south Kashmir’s Tral district as well. An official told Greater Kashmir:

As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering off an encounter.

The forces cordoned a section of Tral after reports of the presence of militants, following which the encounter ensued.

This comes a day after two unidentified militants were gunned down by security forces in Handwara.
