A Congress party worker from Wathoo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, Gulzar Ahmad, was thrashed allegedly by unidentified militants at an undisclosed location. A video of the incident was shared on social media on Monday, 13 November, and circulated across a number of platforms.
The clip shows Gulzar stripped half-naked, on his knees, while militants hold a rifle to his head.
Gulzar responds that he will never help “them”.
He is also warned to stay away from politics and any related political activities, while being beaten by militants, and cautioned not to act as an informer to the police.
Congress State President Gulam Ahmad Mir said that the attacks on Congress workers in the state have been a continuing occurrence.
When The Quint reached out to Munir Khan, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, he was unwilling to comment on the video at the moment. This space will be updated with his response when it comes through.
