Taj Mahal Haters Don’t Know Indian History or Culture: Chidambaram

The ex-finance minister commented on the fuming Taj Mahal row.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram commented on the ongoing debate over the Taj Mahal on Saturday, 28 October and said that the haters of the historic monument don’t know Indian culture.

“It is sad. Those who talk about the Taj Mahal in derogatory terms do not understand either history or India's composite culture,” the ex-finance minister said.

The row over Taj Mahal erupted after BJP MLA Sangeet Som said, “the Mughal-era mausoleum was built by ‘traitors’, and should find no place in Indian history.”
