Canada PM Justin Trudeau Performs Puja is His Dapper Desi Outfit

Trudeau took to Twitter to express that he was in awe of the temple’s architecture and called it a “masterpiece”.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, draped desi finery on Sunday and attended the 10th anniversary of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto.

He took to Twitter to express that he was in awe of the temple’s architecture and called it a “masterpiece”. He also commented on how it was “truly a place for community”.

Trudeau was dressed in blue kurta-pyjama and was also seen sporting a garland around his neck.

The anniversary of the temple was also attended by Vikas Swarup who is the current Indian ambassador to Canada, and has also formerly served as the spokesperson for the ministry of external affairs.

In a statement, Trudeau reportedly said,

I am honoured to recognise his Holiness’ global and Toronto-based humanitarian, charitable, and community-building efforts through BAPS Charities Canada. His Holiness’ great contributions have enriched Toronto.

Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha which runs the temple, has a global network of 3,850 centres and also has an affiliation with the United Nations, according to its website.
