Petrol Pump Dealers Call off the 24-Hour Strike on 13 October

Petrol pump dealers had called for the strike to demand inclusion of petroleum products under GST.

Around 54,000 petrol pumps all over India have decided to call off the strike on 13 October. The strike was being called to demand inclusion of petroleum products under the GST and other long pending issues, an official of a petrol dealers association had said on 7 October.

All the petroleum products must be brought under the GST regime so that our long-pending demand of ‘one nation, one rate’ can be fulfilled to benefit the consumers.

Lodh had said that a decision on the strike was taken at the first joint meeting of United Petroleum Front (UPF), an umbrella organisation of three nationwide organisations of all petrol dealers – Federation of All India Petroleum Traders, All India Petroleum Dealers Association, and Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers, held on 7 October.

The other demands included implementation of the pending agreement signed with oil marketing companies on 4 November 2016 scrapping unfair penalties imposed under Marketing Discipline Guidelines and the approved revised dealer margins every six months.
