In Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, centre today filed the status report before the Supreme Court regarding the belt bomb's investigation in the case. The investigation involves one of the convicts AG Perarivalan but the Apex Court two-judge bench, headed by Justice L Nageshwar Rao and also comprising Justice Hemant Gupta, expressed their dissatisfaction over the status report and asked the centre, to represent immediately through its Additional Solocitor General, before it to argue on this.

2 Killed and 10 Injured in a Horrific Accident in Nagpur

Two persons were killed and 10 others injured when their van was hit by a truck in Maharashtra's Nagpur city on morning of 14 January, police said. The mishap took place around 7 am when the truck hit the van carrying 12 people while crossing a road.

Two van passengers were killed in the mishap, he said, adding that 10 other occupants received injuries.

Two of the injured were seriously hurt and they were admitted to a hospital, the official said. The truck driver was arrested, he said.

Chhattisgarh: Naxals Kill Former Associate's Brother

Naxals killed the younger brother of a former associate who is now working with police in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, police said on Tuesday.

Laxman Mandavi (26), a resident of Duvalikarka village, was stabbed to death with sharp weapons by ultras at his native place late on Monday night, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said.

Mandavi's brother quit the outlawed CPI (Maoist) last year and joined the police force, which apparently angered the rebels, he said.

Wipro Q3 Net Profit Dips 2.17% to Rs 2,456 Cr

IT services major Wipro on Tuesday posted 2.17 percent dip in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,455.9 crore for December 2019 quarter.

The net profit, attributable to shareholders, in the year-ago period was at Rs 2,510.4 crore, Wipro said in a regulatory filing.

Its revenue from operations grew 2.7 percent to Rs 15,470.5 crore during the period under review from Rs 15,059.5 crore in the same quarter last year (as per Ind-AS).
