Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced 200 non-AC trains will run from 1st June every day as per the time table. Online booking for these to begin soon, he said. He also spoke about more 'Shramik Trains' from Tuesday night to help migrant workers.

Earlier, a day after Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray spoke about ending coronavirus crisis before monsoon, the state government, on Tuesday, 19 May, released a revised guideline for lockdown 4.0. The new advisory gives out relaxations for non-red zones.

The number of coronavirus cases in India crosses one lakh with the tally at 1,01,139, according to the Health Ministry on Tuesday. There are now 58,802 active cases across the country, while 3,163 people have died. As many as 39,173 patients have been cured or discharged.

COVID-19: India’s Tally Crosses 1 Lakh

The number of coronavirus cases in India crosses one lakh with the tally at 1,01,139, according to the Health Ministry on Tuesday, 19 May. There are now 58,802 active cases across the country, while 3,163 people have died. As many as 39,173 patients have been cured or discharged.

There was a single-day jump of 4,970 cases and 134 deaths.

122 New Cases Reported in Rajasthan; Tally at 5,629

“One hundred and twenty-two new COVID-19 positive cases, one death reported in the state. The total number of positive cases in the state is now 5,629,” said Rajasthan Health Department, reports ANI.

55 Maharashtra Police Personnel Test Positive in 24 Hrs

“Fifty-five police personnel of Maharashtra police have tested positive for COVID-19, in the last 24 hours. Total number of positive cases in the police force in the state is now 1,328,” the Maharashtra Police said,” reports ANI.

Dispel Rumours, Give Clarity on Train/Bus Departures: MHA to States

“Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla writes to Chief Secretaries of all states to take steps to “mitigate the distress of migrant workers,” suggests a number of measures to be implemented including operation of more special trains by proactive coordination between states and Railways ministry, the MHA stated.

“Till now, around 65,000 migrants from Delhi have been sent to their home states by trains. We are seeking permission from different states to send back their citizens stranded in Delhi,” said Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, reports ANI.

6 More Cases in Assam; Tally at 12

“Six new COVID-19 positive cases confirmed — two each from Jorhat and Golaghat and one each from Kokrajhar and Nagaon. One Jorhat patient had returned from Chennai, while other came from Darjeeling. Total number of positive cases is now 12,” said Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, reports ANI.

Karnataka Records 127 Fresh Cases; Total Rises to 1,373

“On hundred and twenty-seven more COVID-19 cases reported in Karnataka from 5 pm yesterday till 12 pm today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 1,373, including 802 active cases, 530 discharged and 41 deaths (1 due to 'non-covid' cause),” the State Health Department said, according to ANI.

Delhi Reports 500 COVID-19 Cases in 24 Hrs

“Five hundred COVID-19 cases reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours. Total cases rise to 10,554, including 5,638 active cases and 166 deaths,” theDelhi Health Department said, reports ANI.

Cured Rate at 64% But Fight Is Still On: Punjab Health Minister

“Our cured rate of 64 percent, as of yesterday, is the best throughout the country. However, the fight is still on as many Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and people who are stranded in other states are returning,” said Balbir Singh Sidhu, Punjab Health Minister, reports ANI.

Maharashtra Government Releases Revised Guidelines for Lockdown 4.0

In a revised advisory, Maharashtra government allows public and private transport in Orange and Green zones with "passenger management."

Two wheelers will be allowed with one passenger and four-wheeler will be allowed to have a maximum of 3 passengers.

All shops and market will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm in these zones, according to the advisory.

In Red zones, E-commerce activity for essential as well as non-essential items and material are permitted. All industrial units and construction sites are also allowed to operate in the red zones.

MP's Indore Reports 72 New COVID-19 Cases

72 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district. The total rises to 2,637 and death toll to 103 with 2 more fatalities, PTI quoted the officials.

Recovery Rate 38.73%, Says Health Ministry

Ministry of Health today said, during the last 24 hours, a total of 2,350 COVID-19 patients have been cured. Thus, so far, a total of 39,174 patients have been cured amounting to a recovery rate of 38.73% amongst COVID-19 patients.

'Indian Railways Plans to Double Number of Shramik Trains'

"Indian Railways transport more than 21.5 lakh migrants to their home states through “Shramik Special” trains in 19 days and operate more than 1600 'Shramik Special' trains," Railway Ministry says.

"Indian Railways to double the number of Shramik Trains to bring more relief to Migrants. Around 200 trains to run by tonight," it adds.

The ministry also announces 200 non-AC trains will run from 1 June.
