On 8 March, the world celebrates International Women’s Day; a day we dedicate to the women in our lives. But I have a problem with that. Why do we need one day to celebrate women?

Do we actually mean it? Or like the other Western festivals and cultures, we have just adopted 8 March as Women’s Day?

I will not mention the statistics of different things happening to women in my country.

So, to get the long story short, instead of celebrating 364 days as ‘men’s day’ and one day as Women’s Day, let us make a promise to ourselves: to bring forth a day we wouldn’t have to say, ‘Message me when you reach home safely’ to our friends and sisters.

Happy Women’s Day. Yesterday, today, tomorrow.
