On Friday 1 Feburary, the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party will present an Budget 2019. This budget will be the last before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the citizens do have some expectations from this budget too.

The Quint’s My Report team asked the citizens what they expect from the budgets and most of them wish that the farmers’ loan is waived off.

Based Ali, a farmer from Barpeta, Assam wishes that the government waives off all the loans.

The Minimum Support Price (MSP) that the farmers are getting now must be increased. The loan amount too should be increased. All farmers’ loans must be waived. Farmers are facing a lot of financial problems. Hopefully this Budget would solve the problem.

After farmer’s issue, it’s student’s education that is also a concern for the citizens. “This Union Budget, I feel students (education) should be allocated more funds. Students like us who take loan; the interest should be waived,” said Rakibul, a student.

Indrajit Bhowmick wants the budget to be pocket-friendly. He wants basic essentials like sanitary pads, medicines and bus fares to be easily available at a decent price.
