Me, the Change: Applaud the Arrival of the Feisty Village Woman

Lokniti-CSDS-The Quint survey shows that the young Indian village woman is more ambitious than her city counterpart.

The perception of the Indian village woman is not always favourable in comparison to her urban counterpart. But according to a Lokniti-CSDS-The Quint survey, as a part of the ‘Me, the Change’ campaign, the Indian village woman wants to work more, study more and is willing to change cities for love – in a higher percentage than Indian women in cities and towns.

The survey looks at the wants and aspirations of 5,000 first-time women voters in the country, with regard to aspects of life such as education, health, career and personal freedom.

84% of young Indian village women are willing to move to another city after marriage.
