It does not get bigger and more extravagant than this. Quite literally.

The Abraj Kudai, located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia is going to be the world’s largest hotel, with 12 towers, 10,000 rooms, and upwards of 70 restaurants.

The $3.5 billion hotel is currently under construction, and is planned to be opened in 2017. However, economic issues in the country could delay the project by a year. The hotel is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance.

The 1.4 million square meter complex will have rooms dedicated to royal guests, with a ballroom, shopping mall and four helipads upon its roof. There will also be a full-size convention centre inside the hotel.

Apart from the fact that this hotel would become the world’s largest by room count, it will also have the world’s largest dome atop its tallest tower.
