The show focused on the revival of Maharashtrian culture through art and craft, along with some other dying art and weaving forms.

Renowned artists, mostly of Maharashtrian origin, donned garments styled by the students and walked the ramp. Along with Amruta Fadnavis, Renuka Shahane, Ashutosh Gowariker, Sandip Soparrkar, Harsha Bhogle, Sonali Kulkarni, Bharat Dabholkar and Shobha De were also present at the show.

For the inauguration, Amruta Fadnavis wore Hemant Trivedi’s creation – a dress inspired by the art of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra. But for the show stopper part, she was seen in a Paithani weave long kurti.

Well Mrs Fadnavis is a multi-faceted personality. In March, we had told you how Amruta Fadnavis is the Deputy Vice President of a private bank, a singer and has also made her big Bollywood debut as playback singer in Prakash Jha’s Jai GangaaJal.
