Africa’s Richest Woman Threw Her Son One Hella’ Wedding
Paid for by Nigerian oil tycoon Folorunsho Alakija, the wedding is touted as one of the most expensive events ever.
Nigerian oil tycoon Folorunsho Alakija is also a loving mother of four. When one of her sons decided to tie the knot, Alakija made sure no (precious) stone is left unturned.
Folarin Alakija took the wedding vows with girlfriend and model Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar. The event took place at the historic Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, UK, which is famous as Sir Winston Churchill’s ancestral home.
The star studded affair saw a bevy of guests including Victoria’s Secret supermodel, Shanina Shaik and a performance by American singer-songwriter Robin Thicke.
Decorated by celebrity event designer Jeff Leatham, who has previously worked for Madonna and the Kardashians, the venue was adorned with a million roses. A grand 12-feet cake was made by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium was also the talk of the wedding.
Daily Mail reports that the estimated cost of the wedding is a whopping Rs 40 crore!
While Folarin is an investor and cinematographer, Nazanin is a Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering graduate from the University of Manchester and has also worked as a model.
