Matthew McConaughey

With a repertoire of roles under arm, Matthew McConaughey is undoubtedly Hollywood’s finer stars. The Academy-Award winning actor began his acting career in 1991, featuring primarily in student films.

He landed his first Hollywood role in 1993, and went on to star in some of the biggest films of his era-such as Contact (1997), The Rebel (1997), The Wedding Planner (2001), and How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days (2003) to name a few.

After starring as a male strip club owner in the cult film ‘Magic Mike’ (2012), McCounaghey won the Oscar and the Golden Globe for his role as an HIV patient in the film Dallas Buyers Club (2013).

her knack for picking strong character roles. She found her calling in Indian Cinema when she won the Filmfare’s Debutante award for the film Vijaypath, opposite Ajay Devgn.

Tabu is best-known for her roles in Virasat (1997), Kandukondein Kandukondein (2000), Maqbool (2003), Cheeni Kum (2007), to name a few. Although a critics’ favourite, she has also starred in several commercially successful films, such as the recent ‘Golmaal Again’.

Tabu is a two-time National Award winning actor, and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2011.

Milind Soman

Born in Scotland, Milind Soman is one India’s most successful models. He switched from Modeling to seek a career in acting in the mid-90s when he took the lead role in the Indian sci-fi TV series Captain Vyom.

Apart from Indian cinema, Soman also has several English and Foreign language films to his credit.

Someone is widely-known for being a fitness enthusiast, often featuring in marathons. The brand ambassador of Pinkathon, he is also an international level swimmer. He currently holds the Limca Record for running 1,500 km in 30 days time for NDTV’s Greenathon in 2012.

Shakuntala Devi

Popularly called the ‘human computer’, Shakuntala Devi is widely-known for her mental prowess and mathematical abilities. A child prodigy, Devi features in the 1982 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

She travelled the world at a very young age, demonstrating her abilities at different international platforms.

Also considered a pioneer in the field of homosexuality, Devi penned a book ‘The World of Homosexuals’ in 1977, which is today touted to be one of the first studies in the field.

Devi passed away in 2013 aged 83, suffering complications of the heart and kidneys, going down in history as one of the bigest inspirations for budding mathematicians.
