Frida Kahlo de Rivera, born in 1907, was a Mexican painter known for her fearless representation of the female form and the experience of being a woman.

She suffered several ailments during the course of her life that left her physically impaired, but she took her suffering and made it part of her art, infusing herself into her work.

Her art was heavily influenced by her cultural environment and heritage and she continues to be an iconic figure in Mexican history. She is best known for her self-portraits.

This webcomic by Gavin Aung Than takes one of her quotes and transforms it into a beautiful visual representation.
