Here comes that time of the year when Ganesh devotees flood the roads carrying Ganesh idols and chanting “Ganpati Bappa Maurya”, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. This festival starts when devotees bring home an idol of Lord Ganesha. After 10 days, the main occasion arrives when the Ganesha idol is immersed in water, or what we call “Ganesh Visarjan”.

This year Ganesh Chaturthi started on 25 August . Today, after 10 days, people are all geared up for the final part, the visarjan. Here are some pictures of Ganesh Visarjan from one of Delhi’s main Ganpati immersion site, Kalindi Kunj ghat.
