Riyadh, Sep 11 (IANS) Saudi Cabinet approved on Tuesday an agreement with the Russian government for cooperation in the field of exploring space and using outer space for peaceful purposes, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The approval was based on recommendations by the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources and the decision of the Shura (Consultative) Council about the agreement between the two countries.
The new cooperation was part of a series of coordination in different sectors between the two countries, especially after the visit of the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi to Russia in October 2017.
During his visit to Moscow, King Salman signed multi-billion-dollar economic agreements, including a partnership between Russian Direct Investment Fund and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and Mubadala Investment Company to invest in transport infrastructure projects in Russia.
