Critically acclaimed Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has come into the foray with her support of triple talaq for women. She has asked why are women not allowed to divorce their husbands, if they do not want to be with them anymore.
The writer has had a notorious rise to fame, with fatwas being issued against her by Islamic fundamentalists for her book Lajja. She resides in India currently and has been living in exile since the time of the fatwas.
