It seems like more and more women are now reporting stalking cases after a precedent was sent by Chandigarh girl Varnika Kundu. The latest victim is a 34-year-old mother of three from Noida. The woman, a resident of Sector 49, claims that she was being harassed by the accused, Pramod Yadav, for over four months over a land tender. Yadav claims to be the editor of a local newspaper called ‘UP News’.

On the night of 10th August, he and three of his friends stalked the woman, rammed into her scooty and then tried to pull her into their car.
When people on the road started slowing down their cars due to the commotion, the 4 men fired shots at me and fled the scene. They said they will not let me live.

The woman escaped unscathed. She also claims that Yadav had earlier morphed her pictures and has been constantly giving her death threats.

She has filed a complaint with the Noida Sector 49 police station in which she has identified two of the assailants as Pramod Yadav and BK Singh. No FIR has been registered yet.

The Noida Police were unavailable to comment on the issue.
