Social media has made it very easy for misogynistic men to hide behind secret identities and harass women online.
Being a strong, independent, popular woman only means that you will crush more male egos. This, in turn, means that the men behind those gigantic but fragile egos will harass you online, because they don’t have the stomach to face you otherwise.
The newest target for one of these several thousands men who would rather mock women with the classic “Woman! Make me a sandwich” than swallow their pride, was comedian Lilly Singh aka Superwoman.
When a man wrote “Women aren’t funny, shouldn’t you be in the kitching (read: kitchen) making me a sandwich” to Lilly on social media, he wasn’t quite prepared for what she would do next. She actually made a sandwich for those with archaic patriarchy in their bones.
