Blackmailed by Hacker, Woman Takes Battle to FB & Gets 10K Shares

While Black Mirror fans are gasping watching the latest episodes of the horrors of futuristic technology, cyber bullying is happening right now. And one female victim took to Facebook to take on her cyber tormentor.

Recently, US-based Taruna Aswani received a mail from someone called ‘Kevin John’ who hacked into her cloud account and accessed a few private videos and decided to blackmail her.

The sender wrote that if she dared to approach the police, the video footage would be sent to all the people in her contact list.

When Taruna did not respond to the email, the sender sent a second blackmailing message saying that it’s best for her to trust the sender and do what he says.

This would be enough to scare someone. But the 26-year-old physiotherapist who had recently moved to Maryland wasn’t one to cow down to cyber bullying. She took to Facebook to seek help from people to take down the perverted hacker.

Her post received over 10000 shares which thousands lauding her for her courage.

Speaking to The News Minute, Taruna said that the way people supported her was “overwhelming”.

All the love and support has been unbelievable. I have got messages from so many girls in India telling me how they were victimised, and how they wished they had acted then.

Taruna said that she stands by her move despite a few negative comments.

Keeping quiet wouldn’t have stopped him from sharing my pictures and videos. Going public was the best decision I made.
