Dear relatives,

I don't attend every family function... YES! I’m a ‘Buri Ladki’ and I’m proud of it.

A few days ago, a relative told my father, “Apki ladki toh kahin aati-jaati nahi, aapne use VIP bana diya hai.” My father had a good laugh and agreed that I am a VIP!

It’s my life and my choice what events I would like to attend and who I wish to meet. But if my big pariwaar expect’s me to be a part of every family gathering, then that’s not possible.

These khandaan outing is filled with cliches, “Kitni badi hogayi ho tum to aur aage kya karne ka irada hai.” How boring! I know I’ve been labelled “rude” and a “Buri Ladki”, but I don’t find the need to justify my behaviour to anyone. Earlier, I had a career and now I have a family to take care of. I’m pretty content and happy with my life.

Dear relatives, let me be a Buri Ladki in your eyes... All I can do is just laugh at your ignorance!
