If you have been charmed by Ek Ladki Ko Dekha to Aisa Laga trailer, then here’s a real life story of two women that would make you go #LetLoveBe.

Two women from Bundelkhand, UP, braved the society and put garlands around each other to celebrate their union. They fell in love when they were in college but were forced to enter into a loveless marriages then.

According to this Hindustan Times report, after six years of being married to separate people, the two have now divorced their respective husbands and decided to fight a legal battle to stay together. The registrar, of-course, has refused to recognised their marriage as same sex marriages or civil unions are still not legal as per the Indian constitution.

Thankfully, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the LGBTQI community last year, and did away with certain tenets of the Section 377 that criminalized gay sex. According to the two’s lawyers, this would help the two women to live together as a couple.
