Sexual Offenders To Be Fined in France
Soon after 22-year-old Marie Laguerre shared her ordeal over Facebook and formally filed charges of “violence” and “sexual harassment” against the accused, based on the CCTV footage, France's Gender Equality Minister, Marlene Schiappa, shared her outrage on a local newspaper assuring that the French Parliament will adopt a new law this week that will levy a fine of 90 Euros (almost Rs 7000) for similar offences of sexual misconduct in public places, as reported by TheGuardian.
While the details of the new law is yet to be confirmed, netizens are lauding the French Parliament for taking quick and active steps to ensure women’s safety.
