A doctor’s checkup can sometimes be, umm, awkward. Like the pelvic region ultrasound tickles and then you utter something totally random which makes the rest of the appointment weird. Or you start fumbling in front of the hot doctor or you fart when the nurse presses your arm for a blood pressure check!

For all the cr*p that doctors take – examine your poop, test your pee, calm down a freaked out mum while taking care of her child, stand for endless hours in the emergency room, or are at the receiving end of violent relatives of a messed up patient, they deserve a big round of applause.

On National Doctor’s Day, on behalf of all borderline frustrated medical practitioners, here are five things which your doctor wants you to know.

1. I’ll Give You One Hint, It’s (Almost) Never Lupus

A vicodin (or two) will often do the trick. Symptoms of lupus, like fatigue flares, immense body pain, are easily mistaken for a ton of other lifestyle problems. The incidence of lupus is between 15 to 50 people in every one lakh population, it is really really rare and doctors consider it an option when all others have exhausted.

2.What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You About the Surgery

It’s never a bit and not (always) in your head.

3. Self Diagnosing Using Google? I’ll Bet You Got Cancer Only 15 Times

Happy Doctor’s Day to the physician who convinced me I’m normal after google told me I’m dying from seven different diseases.

4. Let’s Hear It For the Doctors!

Your loved one escaped from the teeth of death? Sure, call it a miracle and ring the hospital’s temple bell! Next time, how about thanking your doctor and his team first and then your (dumb) luck?

5. Biggest Lie In the World

Lack of support staff, back-to-back appointments, emergency patients; all that can make the average wait time at your doctor’s upto 10 days. But nurses have one standard reply: “Sir, will be here shortly”.

We totally get that you’re time pressed, doc!

6. Get It Clear Once and For All

Sick days are not for actually being sick because it will be awful to have free time but not be able to take advantage of it. So we press our MD’s for antibiotics even for a flu so we can jet set for work and save the ‘sick leaves’.

Stop with the habit. Share these memes, and stay healthy you all!
