As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents Union Budget 2020, what can healthcare expect?

India currently spends 1.15 percent of its GDP on health. Compare this with some international numbers. The U.S. spends 17.5 percent of its GDP on healthcare, while Switzerland follows with a close second of 12.25 percent. France and Germany spend 11.45 and 11.27 percent respectively.

So is India spending enough on healthcare? India has promised to up health budget to 2.5 by 2025.

Industry experts have called on this to happen much faster with focus on infrastructure and increasing the doctor patient ratio.
