Since the Oscar nominations have been announced, a lot of disappointment has been shown over the lack of diversity.

Actors have been using #Oscarssowhite hashtag on Twitter to ask if ‘people of colour’ should avoid this year’s ceremony to protest against a “white only” list of Academy Award nominees.

Jada Pinkett Smith has decided to boycott this year’s Oscars over the issue. She even posted a video on her Facebook page about it. This is the Oscars’ second straight year of all-white acting nominees.

Jada Pinkett Smith is not alone as producer-director Spike Lee too in a lengthy Instagram post, said he “cannot support” the “lily white” Oscars this year.
