Is it blue and black?  Or is it white and gold?  Not just the nation, the entire world is tearing down the internet over the colour of a dress. Its’s true.   

By early afternoon #TheDress was trending on No.3 on Twitter India with 508K tweets.  

“What colors are this dress,” was an ordinary Tumblr post put up by user Swiked. Little did she know that her post will break the Internet thanks to Buzzfeed. Once Buzzfeed picked up the post on Thursday night, all hell broke loose. By Friday afternoon, Buzzfeed had registered 21 effing million views. Can you believe it? TWENTY-ONE MILLION.  Clearly, custom-made for Buzzfeed.

But guys, “yeh sab maya hai”. It’s all an Illusion!  And there is science back it.  

1.    Rubin’s Vase Illusion

The most popular illusion was developed around 1915 by the Danish psychologist Edgar Rubin. The image tricks your eye and mind by showing either two-black faces or a white vase. 

2.    The Rabbit–Duck Illusion: An ambiguous image in which the brain switches between seeing a rabbit and a duck. It was first drawn and unattributed in a German humour magazine Fliegende Blätter, in 1892 . 

3.   Rorschach Inkblot Test: 

in 1921 Hermann Rorschach created the psychological test in which a person’s perception of inkblots are observed and analysed. 

All it takes is a dress to divide people and yes, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian West, are at the opposing end.
