Vidya Balan has turned down two films as she gears up to become India’s very own Oprah Winfrey. In fact having completed Mohit Suri’s Hamari Adhuri Kahaani, she won’t be doing any more films this year.

It must have been difficult for the actress to turn down films which were offering her two solid real-life personalities to ‘live’ on screen - the late Suchitra Sen (in a biopic) and Pakistan’s late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Balan has blocked the next six months on her calendar for her TV stint. The show will be on the lines of The Oprah Winfrey Show, and needs consecutive dates for filming. Balan had previously turned down an offer to judge the next season of Nach Baliye. She confessed that she doesn’t see herself doing a reality show.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Vidya’s talk show will be unlike any on Indian television so far, and will backed by a Hollywood studio, to be aired on an American television network. Well we thought Aamir Khan had already done a sort of Oprah with his Satyamev Jayate series. Let’s see how differently Vidya Balan plays it.
