What the CBFC Doesn’t Want You to See, Hear in ‘Udta Punjab’

Anurag Kashyap revealed yesterday that the list of cuts ordered by the CBFC in Udta Punjab totalled to 94! A copy of a part of the list of cuts ordered by the certification board is now circulating online and the first cut sets the tone for things to come:

Cut No. 1: Delete sign board of Punjab in the beginning.

Other significant cuts recommended (apart from the ones that have swear words) include:

Cut No. 6: Delete the word ‘Election’, ‘MP’, ‘Party’ from party worker, MLA, Punjab, Parliament.

Cut No. 7: From the song No. 3, delete the visuals of scratching / itching side portion by Sardar

Cut No. 8: Delete the close-up shots of injecting the drugs wherever it appears.

Cut No. 10: Delete the line ‘Jamin Banzar te Aulad Kanjar’

Cut No. 11: Delete the name of dog as ‘Jacky Chain’.
