‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ Actor Amita Udgata Passes Away

The veteran TV actor had been on life support since the last three-four days.

Veteran TV actor Amita Udgata passed away on 24 April in Mumbai from lung failure. The actor, who has starred in many popular shows like Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, and Maharana Pratap, had been unwell and on life support since the last three-four days.

Udgata is perhaps best remembered for her role as ‘Dadi Bua’ in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and ‘Amma’ in Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya. She was associated with Delhi Doordarshan from 1979 to 1990. She has also worked in films like Sarbjit and Hasee Toh Phasee.

“We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn’t aware that her condition so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life’s struggles together.”

Udgata is survived by her two children, Ruchin and Rishab Udgata.
