Actor-comedian Sunil Grover’s show Kanpur Wale Khuranas is set to go off air after an eight-week run. However, he says that TRPs aren’t to be blamed. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sunil clarified that the show was meant to be a mini series since he could only spare a month from his schedule while shooting for Salman Khan-starrer Bharat.
Sunil mentioned that the eight-week-long series was shot in a month owing to his commitments for Bharat. “ I was missing television and hence I took up this show in between, when I had the month gap,” he said.
The actor-comedian was last seen on the small screen on The Kapil Sharma Show which he quit in March 2017.
When asked whether the constant comparisons between The Kapil Sharma Show and Kanpur Wale Kuranas bothered him, Sunil said, “Let them compare. I am doing what I know. I enjoyed doing the show. I love humour as a genre. It was a great journey for, day and night we were working on funny one liners, developing a character, working as a team. Making two episodes a day is not easy, no one can do it in this genre, lining up artists and more. If you look at it, it was quite unachievable what this team has been able to achieve.”
