Indian Show Rips off Arya & Night King’s Iconic Scene From GoT

Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga, an Indian fantasy series airing on Sab TV, is facing flak and accusations of plagiarism for airing a fight scene very similar to one from the recent eight season of HBO’s hugely popular Game of Thrones.

In the scene from an episode which aired on 14 June, the lead character is seen sneaking up being a skeleton with a dagger in his hand. When the skeleton catches Aladdin and lifts him by the throat, he drops his dagger into the other hand and stabs the skeleton.

The move is very similar to how Arya Stark defeats the Night King in season 8 episode 2 of Game of Thrones with her sword Needle. That episode, titled The Long Night, aired barely a month before the Aladdin scene in question and is still fresh in the mind of TV watchers.

As expected, once the Aladdin clip was posted on social media, netizens have thrashing the show for not only ripping off such an iconic and well known scene, but also staging a sword fight with skeletons.

Game of Thrones aired its series finale on 19 May. The eighth and final season received mixed reviews but the highest ratings ever for the show,
