Game of Thrones will air its last episode soon, and fans across the world have already gone into mourning. But another important question that haunts us is - what next? Well, HBO might have an answer for you. Its forthcoming adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy promises some solace. HBO has dropped the teaser of Season 1 and it seems to give us the chills.

Watch the teaser here:

Pullman’s fantasy trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglassas well as his ongoing sequel trilogy, which started with The Book of Dust in 2017) is certainly epic in scale. Set in a parallel world where one’s soul manifests as a shape-shifting animal called a Daemon, the trilogy follows a young girl named Lyra Belacqua who travels to the Arctic to find her friend Roger. He (and other children in her version of Oxford) has been kidnapped by The Church, which is experimenting on them as it studies the nature of an elemental particle called Dust. Lyra’s journey is full of spine-chilling adventures across worlds and lands her in the midst of a massive war being waged across existence.

The official teaser seems to build on that world, and sure does spook us out. It also seems that the first season will large adapt from The Golden Compass. Unfortunately, HBO keeps us in the dark about the release date of the series. We already have our hopes high!
