It’s easily the biggest box-office clash of the year, and so in the battle between Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani, here’s who’s emerging the winner.
According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s figures, Dilwale is undoubtedly leading the race, having amassed a total of about Rs 65 cr over the weekend.
But, what’s also to be seen here is the slight dip the Shah Rukh Khan film took on Saturday and the fact that the growth in collections between Friday (Rs 21 cr) to Sunday (Rs 24 cr) has not been great.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani collected over Rs 46 cr in the first weekend.
What’s interesting is the steady rise in the box-office earnings of the film, thanks to the good reviews and word of mouth around it.
Dilwale has also made its place in the top five openings of 2015.
