Sonam Kapoor reveals in a candid conversation with Rajeev Masand that she was molested in her younger years. In this promo video, the film critic and roundtable host is seen chatting with Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte, about what it means to be a woman.
From the promo it seems that a part of the conversation revolved around Balan’s latest film Kahaani 2, which addresses the issue of child sex abuse. While Anushka Sharma explains how her mother always asked her questions to check if she’d been touched inappropriately in her absence, Sonam Kapoor admits that she has had first hand experience of being molested as a young girl and that it was traumatic.
Vidya Balan of course reinstates the message of her latest thriller, that it is not a girl’s fault.
