Actor Rishi Kapoor is most upset with Rahul Gandhi’s views on “dynasty”, which he aired in the US on Tuesday. Gandhi, when asked about “dynastic succession” while he was speaking at the University of California, Berkeley, had said:

It’s a problem in all political parties in India. Most of the country runs like this, so don’t go after me, Akhilesh Yadav a dynast, Mr Stalin a dynast, Mr (Prem Kumar) Dhumal’s son a dynast, so don’t just go after me...Even Mr Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast, also Mr Ambani, that’s what happens in India.

Gandhi’s observations about the natural order of dynastic succession didn’t go down too well with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who vented out on Twitter.

When someone pointed out to the angry old Kapoor that nepotism did have an element to play in the actor’s success, Kapoor put the blame on the person’s “genetic fault”.

We call for an immediate joint discussion between Rishi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan on genetics and eugenics.
