And Rishi Kapoor did what he does best, yet again. He spoke his mind out.

This time his comment was pointed at Parineeti Chopra’s ‘Style Icon of the Year’ award. In a recent interview to DNA, the actor said he couldn’t digest the fact that Bollywood had awards for actors losing weight.

I couldn’t believe it when they recently gave an award to Parineeti Chopra for losing weight. Can someone please give me an award for gaining weight?

He further went on to ridicule the way awards were given in Bollywood.

I never did believe in popular awards. It’s gotten much worse now. I use award trophies as doorstops in my home. What they have done to film awards is truly tragic. They’ve reduced them to trivia. Shameless. Agar sabko khush karna hai toh phir award ka matlab kya hua?

But, it’s surprising that Kapoor is shocked at the state of the credibitlity of Bollywood awards in 2016. Remember The Quint’s interview with Rishi Kapoor, where he admitted buying his Filmfare Best Actor award for Bobby? That was back in 1974!
