Bollywood buffs were in for a rude shock on Friday. Just about two weeks before Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was to hit theatres, the Cinema Owners Association declared a ban on its release.

The much-awaited film, starring Fawad Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has been barred from screening in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and parts of Karnataka.

The move comes after multiple threats from MNS against the release of films with Pakistani actors or production members.

The social media, once again, is abuzz with many accusations and conspiracy theories behind the action. Some were clearly disappointed.
