Ranveer Singh is all set for Zoya Akhtar’s next film, which is based on the lives of rappers Naezy and Divine.
According to reports, the film which is rumoured to be titled, Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of Mumbai’s rappers who rose from the city’s chawls and ghettos. Ranveer will play the role of a rapper in the film.
In an interview with PTI, Naezy said that while there are things yet to be finalized, Ranveer is almost confirmed for the project.
The Asal Hustle rapper, whose real name is Naved Sheikh, said Ranveer will be the perfect fit to play the part as he understands and loves hip-hop music.
Naezy, who lives in Kurla also said that the actor visited their locality to understand the ‘life and stories’ of underground rappers as a part of the film’s research.
Naezy also spoke about Zoya’s inputs as the director of the film.
Naezy was speaking at the Rolling With music-and-conversation initiative by Twitter India.
