Ram Gopal Verma has gone all out to promote his latest film Veerappan, that will hit theatres on May 27th. In a string of tweets, the director reveals some lesser known facts about the notorious bandit. It is also reported that RGV discovered during his research for the thriller that at one point Veerappan had even plotted to kidnap the legend of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth himself. Well, this could have been true going by the fact that Veerappan kidnapped Kannada star Dr Raj Kumar from his farmhouse, back in the year 2000.

In a series of tweets, RGV claims that Veerappan considered himself to be more famous than megastar Rajinikanth, and even wanted a film to be made on his life as part of his ransom. The tweets further reveal that Veerappan wanted the film to be much bigger in scale than Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen, based on Phoolan Devi.
