Akhil Akkineni’s Engagement to Shriya Bhupal Called Off?

Nagarjuna’s younger son Akhil was all set for a destination wedding in Italy.

After a lot of hype around their destination wedding in Italy, actor Nagarjuna’s younger son Akhil Akkineni's wedding to Hyderabad-based fashion designer Shriya Bhupal has reportedly been called off. Apparently, both the families have informed guests about it, though no official statement has yet been made. The couple got engaged in a lavish ceremony in December last year.

According to a report by The New Indian Express, it was a “last-minute decision”..

Messages went out last Saturday to guests to cancel their programme. No reason was given. Those who were about to book tickets were advised not to go ahead. Even the tickets booked by both families have been cancelled.

According to a guest who requested anonymity, “All was well until last week.”

About 700 guests were to fly to Rome for the destination wedding including several top industrialists, celebrities from the southern film industries, and even some top Bollywood stars.

A lot of preparations were made and everything was in place. Hotels and resorts were booked.

Akhil and Shriya had been seeing each other for almost two years before the December engagement.
