It’s Atul Gogavale’s birthday – the man who made us groove to Zing Zing Zingaat and gave us the ultimate Ganesh Pooja anthem Deva Shree Ganesha. Born on 11 September, Atul Gogavale is a celebrated music producer with a huge repertoire of hit songs to his credit. Atul works in tandem with Ajay Gogavale, his brother. The duo, popularly called Ajay-Atul, has directed music in a number of Marathi and Bollywood films.

Ajay-Atul were born to Ashok Gogavale, a Revenue Department officer in Alandi, Pune. They went to Mumbai to embark on their musical career and to work on an international non-film music album, Vishwavinayaka. This album gave them the much-needed break in their musical career, after which there was no looking back.

Ajay-Atul have produced successful music in Marathi movies like Aga Bai Arrecha, Goad Gupit, Jatra, Savarkhed: Ek Gaon, and Bollywood movies like Agneepath, Singham, Brothers and PK.

They have proven their mettle with compositions like Man Udhan Varyache, Malharavari , Kombdī Paḷali and have also given music in Marathi cinema's highest grossing movie, Sairat.

Ajay-Atul carved a niche in the Indian music industry without having any musical background. Today, they have several awards to their name, including a national award, and have also been featured in the 2015 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List.
